REASON FOR MAINTENANCE:
We will be performing transport network fiber maintenance inside the Atlanta DC3 DataCenter to increase capacity and efficiency.
This maintenance is required to correct an issue discovered during the previously completed [062716-01] scheduled maintenance. During that maintenance, engineering identified an IGP routing protocol interop problem between our Cisco and Juniper transport router infrastructures which ultimately caused a portion of network routes to not advertise properly.
We have since performed out of band testing, and identified a work around procedure which we will be implementing within this maintenance window.
EXPECTED IMPACT:
This maintenance WILL impact your services for a portion of our subscribers intermittently for the duration of the maintenance. Activating the new 10Gb fiber links will involve IGP Layer 3 routing re-convergence which is expected to cause several momentary (a few seconds at a time) network interruptions for the majority of customers located in MacStadium - Atlanta.
As with all planned maintenance activities, there is always a small chance that the activities may not go entirely as planned. In this case, it is possible that the planned momentary network interruptions could become unplanned extended network interruptions which many last seconds or even minutes at a time.
